Receivables Management Association International holds elections each year to approve a slate of officers, elect new Directors to open seats, and, if necessary, approve proposed amendments to RMAI Bylaws. In 2024, there are three (3) open Director seats on the 10-member Board: two (2) certified debt-buyer seat and one (1) certified third-party collection agency seat. RMAI-certified members will vote to fill the seats during the association’s annual election, with the option to vote by email starting in January 2025.

TrueAccord
Joining TrueAccord in 2019, I received a warm welcome into the RMAI family and have been serving on the Editorial Committee since the 2020 conference. Today, I’m running for the certified collection agency board seat to give back to the association, its members, and the broader industry.
My journey began on the phones as a collector in 1998. Over the next decade and a half, I held leadership roles with major originating creditors across the U.S. and internationally. I later transitioned into consulting, where I advised some of the most recognized brands in payments and consumer financial services. At TrueAccord, my focus has been on investing in the next generation of receivables management leaders, driving innovation, delivering for clients, and advocating for fair practices at the consumer, state, and federal levels.
In addition to serving the entire membership and building on the momentum set by current and past Boards, my focus as a board member would include:
- Championing new technologies and innovative practices that enable all members to deliver better business outcomes.
- Strengthening RMAI’s voice at both federal and state levels to promote balanced, fair regulations for our industry.
- Promoting the development and delivery of resources that keep members informed, compliant, and competitive as our industry evolves.
I am fully committed to advancing RMAI’s mission and supporting members in navigating today’s complex challenges. Serving on the board would be a true honor, and I look forward to contributing to our industry in a new way.

Superlative RM
With extensive experience in the receivables management industry, I have served on multiple state and national advisory boards, where I have had the opportunity to address industry challenges and advocate for our collective progress. After completing my service in the United States Marine Corps and receiving an honorable discharge in 1993, I began my career in debt collection. In May 1993, I entered the field as a debt collector, and by January 1994, I had founded a nationally recognized debt collection agency. Over time, this agency grew into a national brand, servicing major issuers of credit cards and auto loans. I led the company until 2005.
In 2006, I joined the Square Two Financial Network (formerly Collect America), where I worked with the same national issuers that shaped my early career. This role enabled me to broaden my expertise in compliance, recovery, and consumer litigation, and I ultimately contributed to building one of the largest and most successful network operations. In 2013, I founded Superlative RM with a core team of seasoned professionals.
At Superlative RM, we are committed to reimagining the debt collection process, maximizing productivity and efficiency for our diverse client base, which includes both debt buyers and originating creditors. As our industry continues to confront evolving regulatory and operational challenges, I am confident that my background in business ownership, strong communication skills, and deep industry connections will be valuable assets in advocating for our industry’s interests.
I am passionate about the future of receivables management and firmly believe that RMAI is best positioned to educate regulatory bodies on the critical role our industry fulfills. I am seeking a position on the Board of Directors to contribute my insights and help shape a positive future for our industry.
Certified Debt Buyer
Michael Cassidy
Velocity Portfolio Group, Inc.
I would bring a balanced 21+ years of experience in the consumer finance industry to the RMAI board. This balance is achieved through 7+ years of experience with a card issuer, 4+ years of experience on the Agency/Law Firm side, 4+ years of experience at a Fintech Lender, 5 years of experience as a founder/partner providing consulting services to Fintech Lenders, and 1 year of experience in my current role on the Debt Buyer side with Velocity.
I am an active member of RMAI, having been on Committees since 2020, consistently attending conferences since at least 2014, and contributing towards webinars/white papers/panels.
I am an enthusiastic member of, and believer in, the Fintech Lending ecosystem, which Debt Buyers, Agencies, Law Firms, and associated Service Providers are an integral part of. In my role at a Fintech Lender, I was able to build and deploy one of the earlier debt sale programs for a Fintech asset, leveraging my own experience as well as resources available to me through RMAI and their membership. From my time on the consulting side, I was able to bring that same commitment to building with RMAI standards in mind to other Fintech Lenders. Now within my role at Velocity, I can further extend my commitment to both the Fintech and Receivables Management space.
Recovery on delinquent and defaulted assets is a critical component of lender’s underwriting and credit risk management programs. RMAI and the membership’s commitment to doing so with the highest standards and educating those on the lender and regulatory side is crucial to maintaining this ecosystem. My background, commitment to the industry, and desire to partner and educate others will assist RMAI in its continued commitment to his industry.

Acctcorp International, Inc.
I have thoroughly enjoyed representing the association over the past 2 years, and I would like to continue to advocate for our membership over the next 2 years and beyond.
I own and operate a Certified Debt Buying company, as well as a Certified Collection Agency, and am active n the receivables management industry. I have served on (and chaired) many RMAI committees over the past 6 years and believe that my breadth of experience has allowed me to represent our membership well. As a small debt buyer, I fill a valuable role in ensuring our association represents all members, regardless of size, and see the value of both large and small certified companies.
RMAI has established itself as a respected voice in the receivables industry, both in and outside the industry. I would like to continue to be a part of maintaining and improving that reputation and represent the future of the organization and our members.
