First DBA Member Completes Debt Buyer Certification Program
DBA International is proud to announce that Glenn Vician of American Acceptance Co. LLC has become the first DBA member to achieve both individual and company certification after completing the requirements of the Debt Buyer Certification Program following the program’s approval by DBA members at this year’s annual conference in February.
To facilitate certification, DBA has conducted certification seminars at the 2013 annual conference, last month in Atlanta, and has scheduled additional seminars at the 2013 Executive Summit on August 12, 2013 and at the Debt Connection Symposium and Expo 2013 in Las Vegas on September 10, 2013. DBA has scheduled a free one-hour informational webinar on May 23, 2013 from 9:00 – 10:00 am (PST). Participating members will have an opportunity to ask questions about the Certification program and process. The webinar will be moderated by Mark Naiman, chair of the Certification Council’s PR subcommittee. Glenn Vician will also be on hand to discuss his experience. The Debt Buyer Certification Program was established to create a national standard for the debt buying industry, to promote uniform operational standards based on best practices, and to ensure that certified members are aware of and in compliance with state and federal statutory requirements as well as responding to consumer complaints and inquiries.
The certification program consists of two types of certifications, a company-based certification that will become a requirement for DBA membership and an individual-based certification that will be required of a certified company’s Chief Compliance Officer. DBA encourages all employees at member companies to seek certification.
