Proceeds from the annual event support Make-A-Wish Western New York, Mikey’s Way and more organizations to help people in need.

Proceeds from the event were distributed between Make-A-Wish Western New York; the Mikey’s Way Foundation, which helps children with life-threatening illnesses stay connected to their friends, family and school through the use of technology; ARMing Heroes; The Alzheimer’s Association and other charities.

The company’s donation to Make-A-Wish helped support the opportunity for Danni, age 17, and her family to take a memorable trip to Hawaii after she was diagnosed with bone cancer.

“The trip was way more than a vacation. We met another family that had a daughter with cancer who we still keep in contact with,” said Danni’s mother, Lisa in a news release provided by NRS. “Danni’s wish gave the family a chance to reconnect with each other, create new, long-lasting friendships, and make beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.”

Over the years, including the 2015 tournament proceeds, NRS has raised nearly $80,000 in donations for charities it supports.

“Our tournament was a huge success,” said NRS President Kevin Baker. “Everyone had [a lot] of fun.”
