2017 Committees

Amicus Brief Committee
Serving under the State Legislative/Regulatory Committee, this subcommittee reviews requests to submit Amicus Briefs and makes recommendations to the State Legislative Committee, including: whether RMA should participate, whether a joint industry brief is appropriate, and who should author the briefs.

Business Development Task Force
This task force explores products, services, and partnerships to enhance member benefits and increase revenue to the association through diversification of offerings.

Editorial Committee
This committee is responsible for the editorial content of RMA communications, including the printed magazine, e-newsletter, RMA website, Member Alerts, and more.

Education Committee
This committee is responsible for the development of RMA educational programs. This includes, but is not limited to, a robust webinar lineup, programs offered at the annual conference and executive summit, regional symposiums as needed, and additional offerings deemed to be needed by the committee and/or Board.

Ethics Committee
This committee is responsible for the investigation of ethics complaints received about RMA members and taking appropriate actions.

Federal Legislative/Regulatory Committee
This committee is responsible for developing recommendations for RMA positions on legislation and regulations at the federal level that affect the industry.

Legislative Fundraising Committee
This committee is responsible for soliciting donations to the RMA Legislative Fund to support the association’s work on behalf of the membership at the state and federal levels.

Membership Committee
This committee is responsible for developing membership recruitment and retention programs to grow the membership and evaluate current and new member needs. This committee also oversees the subcommittees on new members (originating creditors and international members) and new market business opportunities.

State Legislative/Regulatory Committee
This committee is responsible for developing recommendations for RMA positions on legislation and regulations at the state level that affect the industry.

2017 Certification Council Committees

Administration & Budget Committee
The Administration & Budget Committee is responsible for issues concerning the administration and oversight of the Certification Program, application procedures, application approvals, and the development of a proposed annual budget and fee schedule. The committee is also responsible for assuring affordable access to the Certification Program.

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is responsible for issues concerning the administration and oversight of the Certification Program’s Compliance Audits.

Educational Requirements Committee
The Educational Requirements Committee is responsible for issues concerning the administration and oversight of the Certification Program’s Educational Requirements.

PR & Marketing Committee
The Public Relations & Marketing Committee is responsible for educating and promoting the Certification Program with RMA membership, the debt-buying industry, press, public officials, and the general public. This includes the development of physical and electronic publications and resources, provided that they are developed jointly with the appropriate subject matter committees.

Remediation Committee
The Remediation Committee is responsible for issues concerning the administration and oversight of Deficiencies and Remediation within the Certification Program.

Standards Committee
The Standards Committee is responsible for issues concerning the administration and oversight of the Certification Program’s Certification Standards.
