FTC to Host Two Additional Debt Collection Dialogues
Complimentary event on September 29 in Dallas and November 18 in Atlanta

The Federal Trade Commission issued a press release announcing two additional Debt Collection Dialogues this fall in Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA. The FTC’s first Debt Collection Dialogue, co-hosted in June with the New York Attorney General’s Office in Buffalo, drew nearly 200 participants, most of them collection industry members.

At the Dallas and Atlanta events, representatives from the FTC and other federal and state enforcement agencies will attend, as well as debt collection industry leaders and professionals. The discussion will center around enforcement actions, consumer complaints, compliance issues, and industry best practices. Agency staff will also answer questions, including how regulatory enforcement actions are investigated and pursued.

  • The Dallas event will start at 1:30 p.m. on September 29 in the Center for Community Cooperation, 2900 Live Oak Street. More information, including how to pre-register, is posted here. Pre-registration is encouraged for event planning.
  • The Atlanta event, co-hosted with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, will begin at 1:30 p.m. on November 18 at the Latin American Association, 2750 Buford Highway. More information and pre-registration is available here.

Both of these events are free and open to the public. DBA International will participate on the panel as well as have representatives at both of these events.
