RMAI wants to remind those members who are licensed as debt collectors in California that the Department of Financial Protection & Innovation (DFPI) has a debt collector annual report that is due on Monday March 16, 2026 by 11:59pm pacific.
This annual report must be filed directly with the DFPI on the DFPI’s website (not on NMLS). For more information, please visit the Debt Collector page on the DFPI website and scroll down to “Annual Report” for additional information.
DFPI has the ability to fine violators up to $5,000 a day for each day the annual report is late.
