This past year stretched the resources and created a critical need for volunteerism in so many charitable organizations across the globe. The Bureaus, Inc. has contributed to many non-profits that directly affect our employees, from health and the search for cures for medical issues to supporting children in our communities and helping provide resources for animal rescue organizations.
Healthcare and Human Services
The mission of the American Cancer Foundation is to free the world from cancer. Founded in 1913, it has become a global leader in the fight against cancer, working tirelessly to save lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against the disease. As a 501(c)(3), the American Cancer Society not only funds and conducts critical cancer research, it also encourages prevention, provides support, advocates for lifesaving policy changes, helps cancer patients navigate treatment, and so much more.
With autoimmune diseases affecting 20% of the U.S. population, the Autoimmune Disease Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports novel biomedical research and clinical trials performed by premier research scientists in order to find the cause of and cure for autoimmune diseases.
Youth Advocacy and Education
Shore Acres Elementary School is committed to creating a nurturing and welcoming atmosphere for families and students. It focuses on providing a quality education for students in the community through relationship building, quality instruction and development of a strong home school connection.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. NCMEC works with families, victims, private industry, law enforcement, and the public to assist with preventing child abductions, recovering missing children, and providing services to deter and combat child sexual exploitation.
Animal Welfare and Rescue
Belly Rubs Basset Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that works to find good homes for abandoned, abused and unwanted Basset Hounds and Basset mixes in Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas. They do not have a physical location but with the help of donations and supporters, they are able to rely entirely on foster volunteers to house the dogs until they can be placed in forever homes and provide healthcare for those dogs in need.
The Looziana Basset Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that is dedicated to rescuing homeless and unwanted basset hounds in all parishes of Louisiana. The organization provides free veterinary examinations, with all necessary treatment provided to restore them to good health, to each dog in their care. Rescued basset hounds are temperament tested and socialized in loving, supportive foster homes or boarding facilities until they are ready for adoption.
