DBA International will present a D.C. Symposium, Debt Buying Inside the Beltway, September 20-21, 2016. Hosted in the nation’s capital, this two-day education and networking program provides attendees with the unique opportunity to meet members of Congress and federal regulators, such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, to discuss important issues impacting the industry today.

The FDIC will also present a two-hour Investor Workshop where attendees can find out how to buy debt from the FDIC. This robust panel will cover owned real estate; judgments, deficiencies and charge-off partnerships; loan portfolio sales and LLC transactions; pre-qualification for securities and LLC transactions; programs for minority and woman-owned businesses; and contracting opportunities. The FDIC has failed bank assets available for acquisition by investors and asset purchasers.

Jam-packed with education, networking and one-of-a-kind exclusive opportunities, the agenda provides industry leaders with the opportunity to go in-depth into the legislative and regulatory issues of utmost significance to our industry. Sessions include the impact of the election on the financial services industry, development and formation of public policy, perspective from the regulatory community and committee staff, and debt collection issues impacting Military personnel. The symposium concludes with appointments on Capitol Hill where attendees will speak directly with Members of Congress.

Attendees will have access to exclusive events including a private lecture and tour of the Supreme Court. The Dean for Public Interest and Public Service at George Washington Law will discuss the relevant Supreme Court cases that have or are affecting our industry before embarking on the tour.
