The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has asked DBA International to encourage our debt buying membership, especially small and medium size companies, to complete the CFPB Debt Collection Activities Study. The information gathered will help to inform the CFPB analysts of the benefits and costs of potential new rules related to debt collection operational costs.

To help guide the Bureau’s thinking, they would like to include DBA Member Companies as respondents to answer questions about the operational costs of collecting consumer debt and the factors that affect those costs, including vendors used and the capabilities of different products used in the debt collection market. The questionnaire includes approximately 60 questions about your operations and is expected to take approximately 60 minutes to complete.

Participation is completely voluntary, but highly encouraged. Participating entities will have the opportunity to help shape any future evolution of this important new regulation. A subset of respondents will be asked to participate in a follow-up phone interview to provide additional detail.
