January 27, 2025 (Sacramento, CA) – RMAI is pleased to announce that the Keynote Speaker at the 2025 RMAI Annual Conference will be economist Dr. Andrew Rodrigo Nigrinis. A former CFPB enforcement economist, Dr. Nigrinis will give unique insights into opportunities for CFPB reform and the agency’s enforcement process. The conference will be held February 10-13, 2025, in Las Vegas. This is the premier event in the receivables management industry, and registration is open.
In his keynote address, sponsored by InDebted, Dr. Nigrinis will offer perspective on navigating regulatory challenges and understanding the complexities of enforcement actions. The address will also highlight the growing influence of states in shaping the financial regulatory landscape, providing a forward-looking view of industry and state collaboration.
Dr. Andrew Rodrigo Nigrinis is a professional economist with over 20 years of experience in economics and consumer financial services. He specializes in the application of economic, financial, and statistical analyses in the context of corporate litigation, regulatory actions, and compliance matters. He served as the sole enforcement economist at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in consumer financial services and led the Bureau’s economic analysis and evaluation of over 70 cases. Throughout his career, Dr. Nigrinis has managed investigations related to allegations of unfair or deceptive practices, fair lending, credit card fees, debt collections, and more. He also provided economic analysis of consumer financial regulations and policy and has extensive experience with sampling and big data. While at the CFPB, Dr. Nigrinis worked alongside State Attorney Generals as well as DOJ and OCC officials on a wide range of matters.
