What is Individual Certification?
The Certified Receivables Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation is required for each certified business’s Chief Compliance Officer and a voluntary designation for others within the receivables industry.
- Certification is granted to those individuals who complete industry-relevant continuing education on approved subject matter from RMAI and/or one of its Authorized Education Providers (listed below) and pass a criminal background screening conducted by the RMAI.
- Education must come from live classroom settings or webinars.
- Maintain the CRCP designation every two years to demonstrate to your employer, a future employer, or industry participants that you are committed to staying abreast of recent statutory and regulatory changes and are someone who takes compliance seriously.
- CRCP for Chief Compliance Officer of a Certified Receivables Business (CRB) or Certified Receivables Vendor (CRV)
- If seeking company certification, it is a requirement that at least one (1) individual obtain the CRCP designation to fulfill the Chief Compliance Officer duties outlined in the certification program (Standard A13 for CRB & Standard 101 for CRV).
- If replacing a current Chief Compliance Officer of a Certified Company, it is a requirement that the replacement is already CRCP certified or, if not, obtains their CRCP designation within six (6) months of taking on the Chief Compliance Officer role (Article 5.5a of the Governance Document)

Educational Requirements
Initial Certification Requirements
- 24 education credits must be completed prior to submitting your initial application (2-year look-back period)
- If you are the Chief Compliance Officer of an existing Certified Receivables Business (CRB) or Certified Receivables Vendor (CRV) you must earn a minimum of 12 credits from in-person attendance.
- For all other employees of a CRB/CRV or anyone from a non-certified business, all education can be taken online.
- Of the 24 education credits required:
- 4 education credits must come from the Introductory Survey Course on Receivables Management.
- 2 credits must come from Qualified Ethics courses.
- 1 credit must come from identifying and avoiding discriminatory collection practices.
- Offered as a pre-recorded webinar from November 12, 2024, Avoiding Discriminatory Collection Practices Including When Using Digital Technology and AI is available.
- A general course on diversity, equity, and inclusion will also satisfy this requirement.
- Offered live at RMAI’s Annual Conference, Executive Summit, or as a pre-recorded webinar , or we have a bundle with all 3 required courses.
- Remaining credits can be chosen at your discretion from RMAI online webinars or RMAI Authorized Education Providers.
- For education not from RMAI or an RMAI Authorized Education Provider, please complete our Blank Education Credit Form and submit it for review by a staff person.
- Complete the application and submit it with proof of completion of credits.

Renewal Certification Requirements
